South Bend, Indiana is now home to a vibrant dining destination offering an authentic taste of Colombian cuisine. Chevere Colombian Food, as it’s aptly named, is the brainchild of Camilo Guzman, one of its co-owners. This restaurant is a labor of love and a realization of a dream that has been nurtured for quite some time.

Chevere Colombian Food opened its doors to the public in September, bringing a diverse array of Colombian flavors to the local culinary scene. The menu is a delightful assortment of Colombian culinary gems, including mouthwatering empanadas, savory soups, hearty plates, refreshing salads, and much more.

Guzman explains the concept behind the menu, saying, “It’s a challenge to encompass all the culinary richness of our homeland, but my wife has carefully curated dishes representing various regions of Colombia.”

What sets Chevere Colombian Food apart is its unique distinction as the only Colombian restaurant in the area. Guzman warmly invites everyone to experience the flavors and culture of Colombia, emphasizing, “We extend a warm welcome to all, inviting them to savor the diverse offerings of our cuisine.”

Located at 701 N. Niles Avenue in South Bend, Chevere Colombian Food shares its space with Sunny Italy, accessible through the building’s rear entrance. It’s a culinary journey that promises to delight the taste buds and introduce the local community to the rich and vibrant world of Colombian gastronomy.
